BLESSINGS TO THOSE PROCEEDING IN DECENCY & ORDER,
It was approximately 1988, and on this Sunday morning Teresa stayed home while my girls and I went to Church. I left Jamie (approx. 5), & Crista (approx. 2) in the nursery that morning where there would be a short Bible lesson and then time to play with friends. I can't tell you what was preached that day, but after service I was talking to some Brothers about it. I was running some of the bible verses through my head on the less than a mile from home trip. When I pulled the CJ-7 into the garage, I jumped out and went into the family room where Teresa met me with a shocking question, “Where are Jamie & Crista?”
I don't know the exact words stated, but it was a confession that I had left my girls at the church. I shot back up the road and ran into the nursery. I apologized for forgetting Jamie & Crista and the attendant just nodded and gave me a smile. I told the girls I was sorry I had left and not picked them up from the nursery.
Our God is a God of decency and order, even when an absent- minded Dad
forgets.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” – Deuteronomy 31:6-8
