Having been a worry wart for way to many years, I can assure you it is

a total waste of time.  My worries were usually tied to work and whether I had done all that I should have done for a client, or was there a Statute of Limitations coming up that I might miss and that would prevent a claim being filed in court if we were unable to come to a settlement.  

My mom used to say when you come home from work cast your worries on the worry tree before going into your home.  Leave the worry there, don't bring it into your home.

She was more than right, and the Tree of Life calls out to us even today.

To put it in the simplest of terms.  Cast all your cares on Him Who cares for you.

 Castingall your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].Read full chapter 1 Peter 5:7 in all English translations

It is truly something to sing about…when The Good Shepherd finds you.
