BLESSINGS TO THOSE SEEKING TO KNOW GOD,
An old friend of mine who had served in the US Army in WWII and the Korean War really had no interest in discussing War, and even avoided another resident of the condo association that had fought in the German Army in WWII. Walt said something to the effect of who wants to talk about death when we should be talking about living. In later years Walt would say, “There are no atheists in foxholes. The dying man cries out for his God or his mother.”
atheism, in general, the critique and denial of metaphysical beliefs in God or spiritual beings. As such, it is usually distinguished from theism, which affirms the reality of the divine and often seeks to demonstrate its existence. Atheism is also distinguished from agnosticism, which leaves open the question whether there is a god or not, professing to find the questions unanswered or unanswerable.
