BLESSINGS TO THOSE WHO ARE POOR IN SPIRIT,
I imagine there were a few reading the title this day that were a little surprised to hear, “I'm better than you.”
We can deny that we have ever had such thoughts, but the truth is at more than just a few times in our life comes the thought well I am better than that person sitting in prison, I'm better than that person laying sick in a hospital bed, I'm better than that person I see on the streets carrying their worldly belongings in an old grocery cart, I'm better than that person who is laid off work and is going to lose their home.
When I graduated from Law School well didn't I have something that made me better than others? No, the level of one's education does not make us better than others.
Well, surely when we receive Christ in our lives are we not better than others?
I am a member of this denomination doesn't that make me better than you?
Thoughts of “I'm better than you” caused people to put other people on railroad cars like animals to be taken to far off lands to die in gas chambers.
Counting it all joy BECAUSE THE BREAD OF LIFE SUPPLIES IN ABUNDANCE,
Ron
