Blessings to the little ones knowing OUR GUILT,
In decades gone by I represented people charged with felonies.
Most of the time there were plea bargains reached where the Defendant
could agree he or she was guilty to a lesser charge and receive a recommendation by the District Attorney's office for a more lenient sentence.
There were a few trials where the Defendant really had no choice since there was no plea bargain and the D.A. wanted the maximum sentence.
I can still remember those times when the verdict was read, “Guilty”, and that sick feeling inside knowing that my client was headed for harsh sentencing.
I can try to sugarcoat it, but the bottom line is we are all guilty.
