BLESSINGS TO THOSE WHOSE DEBT HAS BEEN PAID,
In decades gone by, I stood with clients as the Judge announced the verdict,
“Guilty”.
It is a very sad word to hear, and most lawyers will tell you that the defense now turns to what arguments can be made to mitigate the sentence that is coming. Realize there may be arguments in the judicial process that we can take to a higher court to argue the legal procedures were not followed and therefore the verdict should be set aside.
Sooner or later most of us realize that we too are guilty, and we need an Advocate who will argue our case so that our punishment can be lessened or avoided.
I personally have never seen in a Colorado Court someone take a sentence for my client, but I have seen a Judge say to a convicted three time felony loser, “God is not mocked. “
And then proceed to give a sentence of probation!!!
