Blessings to Those receiving CHANGES,
When I started out on this journey home in 1987, there was plenty of junk that was buried in my heart and in my mind. I had heard people talk for years before that “the Lord did this and the Lord did that for me”. Frankly, I called it the ten foot pole experience where I felt they were all a bunch of phonies, and some of them might be nice, but they were still phonies and pretending in a reality that did not exist.
As I set in my first Bible study as a young man in my 20s, I believed in some of what they were reading, and these other young people had come from some pretty tragic lives of drugs and booze and yet they seemed clean to me now when I set with them and they spoke of the Love of Jesus, There was a peace with them, but I still walked away.
Now sitting down with the Pastor and this adult group at the church for the first time in approximately April of 1987 (more than 15 years later), I was hearing this word “Lord” again, and I started judging who I thought was saying the word to be noticed and who was saying the word in reverence. I started realizing there was plenty THE ALMIGHTY was going to have to do in me to conform me into His Image.
Living Sacrifices
1Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. 3For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but think of yourself with sober judgment, according to the measure of faith God has given you.…Rom. 12:1-3
