THE DOUBLE WHAMMY…IMCOMING SALVO…24 JAN. A.D. 2022

May we hold fast as the world gives us Hard Blows,

Brothers and friends in the last few months have told me of hardships suffered.  Some of those were issues of cancer or COVID creeping into life.  There are also stories of people that invested a great deal of sweat and time into hopes and dreams of farmlands and property that were taken away.
It is a fact of life that life is a roller coaster of ups and downs and yes some things coming at us that are a real DOUBLE WHAMMY.
In times of the Double Whammy when the mind, heart, and body cries out for relief, we may stop and reflect on what this journey is all about.
Some say it is all about the “Golden Rule” – those that have the Gold make the rules.  We have seen enough of what this World has to offer to know that is a lie.
We are going to need to build on a foundation that neither forest fire, hurricane winds, and not even tornadoes and financial crashes can take away.

The Wise and Foolish Builders – “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house.

There will be loss in this world,  yet we are called to build our lives on a firm foundation that even Double Whammies can not take away, no not even Death itself.

  1. Ron and Tom, when I was growing up in the 1960’s i was influenced by a priest whose name was Father Charles Yetmar. I was in the habit then of questioning everything especially my prayers to God. He gave me this thought from Thomas Merton. Prayer then means yearning for the simple presence of God, for a personal understanding of his word, for knowledge of his will and for the capacity to hear and obey him. It is thus something much more than uttering petitions for good things external to our own deepest concerns. I try to include this thought in my own morning and evening prayers. God Bless!
