BLESSINGS TO THOSE SHOWING KINDNESS,As we perceive the things of everyday life traveling at an ever faster pace, there is an inclination to believe that little things don't matter and are quickly forgotten. In the 1980s, I would take sandwiches down to Man Power that was directly across the street from Outreach of Love. On this particular Monday morning there were a few men complaining about the free lunch I had brought, and some said I didn't want any mustard on mine, and another said if it isn't steak I don't want it.I kept working my way to the front of all the lines of men waiting trying to get temporary work although I felt disheartened by the complaints. In the front row was a short little black man with a smile on his face for me, and he was tapping on the Bible that was set in his lap.I never saw that Brother in all the early morning hours at Man Power again, but his act of kindness kept me encouraged in the Spirit from that day on. When our family moved to the mountains, John took my place and proceeded to do the sandwich delivery to the men at Man Power for years after even though he struggled with his own health issues which made it hard to make the trips, weeks after weeks, years after years.34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
